The mind chatter, the monkey mind, whatever you call it. We are so busy, multi-tasking and non- stop thinking, to-do lists and so on. There is a lot on our minds, and it can be challenging to calm the mind and slow down. Life can be stressful. We need to take some time out to clear our thoughts and keep stress to a manageable level.
Chitta vritti is a term that refers to the thoughts that clutter the mind. The name comes from the Sanskrit, chitta, meaning “consciousness” or “memory,” and vritti, meaning “waves.” One of the goals of yoga and meditation is to take control of chitta vritti by quieting the mind, thereby reducing stress and increasing Self-awareness.
